ADNOC Drilling has secured an $806 million contract for three next-generation island rigs to support the Zakum offshore development project, one of the world’s largest oil fields. These rigs, set to join the fleet between 2027 and 2028, will feature AI, digitalization, and real-time analytics to improve safety, efficiency, and performance. The contract follows ADNOC Drilling’s recent awards, bringing its total fleet to 151 rigs by 2028. The rigs will drill on existing and new artificial islands with advanced capabilities such as walking between well slots without dismantling, optimizing uptime and reducing emissions. This investment aligns with ADNOC’s production goals and commitment to innovation and sustainability.
